ZIYARAT OF SYEDI SASA BIN SOHAN

Bahrain has the sharaf of being the resting place of Sasa bin Sohan who was one of the distinguished Hujjats of Amir-ul-Mumineen Maulana Ali (AS).

He was a Master Orator. Amir-ul-Mumineen Maulana Ali ibne Abi Talib (AS) bestowed upon the title of “Al Qhateeb-us-Shah-Shah” for his oratorical prowess.

After the wafat of Amir-ul-Mumineen (AS), Sasa bin Sohan did Ziyarat and at the Qabar Mubarak recited a deeply solemn Marsiyah that he had written. He used to tirelessly recount the Fazilat of Amir-ul-Mumineen(AS) and constantly deliver sermons to reinforce Amir-ul-Mumineen(AS)’s Haq. These sermons by Sasa bin Sohan angered Muawiyah(LA).

On one occasion Muawiyah(LA) invited orators to his palace and specifically had asked for Sasa bin Sohan. He told Sasa bin Sohan to stand on Mimbar and state La’nat on Maulana Ali(AS). Sasa bin Sohan got up on the Mimbar and told the people gathered that Muawiyah(LA) has told me to say La’nat on Maulana Ali(AS) so I say La’nat on him. This angered Muawiyah(LA) immensely.

Muawiyah(LA) exiled Sasa bin Sohan and he came to Bahrain where he lived till his wafat.

On 7th Jamaadil Awal H1416, AqaMaulaTUS did Ziyarat of Sasa bin Sohan. MaulaTUS gave raza to Mehlum Bhaisaheb bin Yunus Bhaisaheb to relate to all mumineen that were present for the ziyarat, the above information. After that the Marsiyah that was written by Sasa bin Sohan and that he recited at Amir-ul-Mumineen(AS)’s Qabar Mubarak, was recited followed by Matam.

AqaMaulaTUS also stressed to mumineen that ziyarat at Sasa bin Sohan should be peformed with sajda. MaulaTUS had performed the Ziyarat with sajda.
